Barefoot Footwear: Durango’s oh-so-soft shoes

I’ve reported and wrote about some of the most outlandish stories for newspapers throughout the course of my editorial career. We actually had a saying in the newsroom about the craziness that published: We can’t make this s*** up — even if we wanted to.

My sentiment exactly when I describe the velvety fit of Durango’s new Music City Women’s Turquoise Western Boat Mocs. No, kidding: These moccasins truly have me walking around the farmhouse like I’m barefoot and pregnant. Lol. The comfort level is surreal.

That said, here are what I believe are the Southern secrets to these shoes’ barefoot allure:

THE MICROFIBER CUSHIONED FOOTBED: The mocs’ foam padded lining provides superb breathability and abrasion resistance. This sock liner also is  lightweight and sweat absorbent, earning an A+ for Southern gals who work in the heat like yours truly.

THE RUBBER SIDEWALL & OUTSOLE: A popular sneaker feature, the rubber sidewall says, “funky, fresh footwear” as you saunter through small-town to big-city streets. Durango’s design equips the foot with extra flexibility and protection all around — from the sides and heel to the toe area as well.

THE MOC TOE: Cramped-free feet. Yes, please. These shoes’ moc toe is cozy because they’re beyond roomy. Real talk: Cowgirl Candace has wide boats, so this type of toe box satisfies my forefoot section splendidly.
