November Letter from the Editor: Southern Steeds

1 year ago Editor's Note0

My affinity for horses runs deep — like super duper Deep South deep. The first horse my parents saddled me on as a toddler was a quarter horse named Lil Bit. And Lil Bit didn’t take any mess from kids, either.

From there, an entourage of appaloosas, paints and feisty Shetland ponies joined the farm family fold throughout the years.

To celebrate my birthday month and the docile creatures who made my country-livin’ childhood unforgettable, I’m going into pure horse speak during November.

We’re talking horse fashion, accessories, equipment — whatever — because these real-life unicorns played a crucial role during my childhood to develop modern-day Cowgirl Candace and this fun digital Western world I live in.

— Ride on!
