    ‘The Saddle Club: Beach Ride’

    I discovered author Bonnie Bryant’s book series “The Saddle Club” while visiting my sister in Augusta earlier this year. Since a Goodwill store is near her neighborhood, I had to scout it out. And, guess what? I struck cowgirl gold when I found shelves filled with these children’s horseback riding books.

    The series follows a group of teen girls who experience coming-of-age adventures as an equestrian team in training. This summer my daughter and I’m reading “Beach Ride” together. Our favorite character, Carole Hanson, is visiting her cousin in Florida for a beach excursion, which coincides perfectly with this month’s Southern Styles & Steeds beach edition.
